IPACK-IMA inside THE INNOVATION ALLIANCE reaches 150.110 visitors

The new fair formula launched for the first time this year, from 29 May to 1 June 2018, has been rewarded by the numerous presences that have reached the Milan RHO fairgrounds.

The Milanese event has just ended, which has turned to the world of packaging and processing, embracing all the spheres of business connected to this important global sector. IPACK-IMA assumed an even more important role within the event, counting, together with the partner MEAT-TECH 1,503 companies, distributed over 9 pavilions and covering an exhibition area of approximately 62,300 square meters. 37% of the companies on display came from abroad.

IPACK-IMA this year was part of a new concept of the exhibition, THE INNOVATION ALLIANCE, which has unified 5 large fairs that tell a whole sector always growing and in continuous movement. Alongside IPACK-IMA and MEAT-TEACH, Milan has focused on new developments in industrial and commercial printing services with Print4All, all the best performing solutions in terms of logistics and industrial movements with INTRALOGISTICA ITALIA, and finally they have explored the technological opportunities for the production and use of plastics and rubber with PLAST. In the spotlight are machinery, accessories, software, robotics, instrumental mechanics, labeling, packaging, production and innovative technological proposals that promote ecology and sustainability.

Interesting was the foreign influx of visitors to the entire fair, which reached 27% compared to the total of 150.110 visits overall. Most visitors come from Europe and Asia. THE INNOVATION ALLIANCE has gathered the interest of 1,000 top buyers from 66 countries, invited thanks to the incoming work carried out by ICE Agency. The visit of influential foreign buyers proved to be an excellent time to shop directly during the fair days.

7 were instead the winners of the Packaging Oscar, at its 61st edition organized by the Italian Institute of Packaging in collaboration with IPACK-IMA2018, which awarded technologies mainly aimed at functionality, originality and sustainability and strictly eco-friendly . The categories at stake were 4, that is:

- Technical Innovation and Technology: among the 3 winners is CHIMAR S.p.A. with SPYLOG, the packaging that becomes "SMART". It is a high-tech system for a logistics with smart features, which with a single component, perfect for every packaging, can be obtained intelligent and timely monitoring of the package.

- Quality Design for which the FERRERO Group was awarded with NUTELLA UNICA, ie packaging born of an algorithm. The product has won because it combines innovation in printing technology with a marketing and communication project, all focused on the uniqueness of packaging.

- Over All, which awarded ADERCARTA S.p.A. for PURA NATURA, the transparent paper. The product won because it re-interpreted a vintage material such as paper, offering the consumer an alternative to the biodegradable bag for fruit and vegetables in GDO, which combines economy, respect for the environment, image and functionality.

- Environment that has awarded BTICINO S.p.A. for WRAPEASY Universal Packaging. It has won because the proposed system combines raw material savings and logistics optimization, with a refined and eco-friendly design.

The entire event has certainly brought out the quality of Made in Italy in support of and in favor of a market that exports 70% of the machines produced on average.
